Established in 1986 as a holding company of tourist villages, AKA has expanded since into multi-diversified fields. The group encompasses four main sectors, tourism and the hotel sector, real estate, duty-free trade sector, as well as development.
AKA International was originally established in 1972 by Ali Khalil founder and President in Canada, later progressing into Egypt in 1986 as it established a holding company for tourist villages.
Since then AKA has grown over the years into a multi diversified company. The Group encompasses four main sectors, Tourism and Hotels Sector ,Real Estate and Construction Sector, Trade and Duty Free Sector, Management & Service Sector.
AKA is one of the first companies to invest in Hurghada, starting with Princess Palace Club and Friendship village, both resorts located on the Mamsha.
These quickly became popular destinations for foreigners and Egyptians alike and is still remembered by the local community of Hurghada.
This was followed by the opening of AKA Duty Free, which is easily considered one of the main landmarks of Hurghada. When it first opened it was the largest duty free in the Middle East, offering a concept that had never been seen before which was a department store duty free.
This broke records for sales and set AKA above any other investors in Hurghada.
AKA Duty Free was connected to one of our first residential developments and our third hotel, Holiday Center, The project is unique, as it is the first and one of the only buildings with permission to build 9 floors which is very uncommon in Hurghada.
During this time period, AKA had also begun working on its second major residential property, AL Hambra.
Hurghada is one of the fastest growing cities on the Egyptian coastal front. With the Red Sea at your fingertips and a lively city experience in such close proximity, Hurghada has something for everyone to enjoy.
It covers five different districts, including Ras Ghareb, El Gouna, Safaga and Marsa Allam. All of these districts use Hurghada as a shopping centre for general and mass supplies, making it the hub of the Red Sea.
There are over 14 existing schools in the centre of Hurghada that include French, German, American and British educations. Along with 3 universities that offer a variety of courses between Hurghada and El Gouna.
The sun shines for 90% of the year, with a daily temperature that averages at around 30oC most of the year. This makes it a calming place to reside or use as a second home when you need a warm place to vacate too.
